Being truly me means feeling free to speak and move. When I can speak the way that I love to express myself, in my mother tongue, I am most relaxed. If I can speak and colour my language with comparisons and analogies I am excited and joyful. When I am free to sit and drop my shoulders and breathe deeply and smile because of a memory, I am free. When all I have are random thoughts of past loves, the awesome move of the Holy Spirit, jokes shared with family and friends or old movies - I am ok.
If I can sit and not have to suck in my over grown belly to hide from my surroundings, I am comfortable. When I drive alone and sing along to dancehall music or sexy music or gospel music I feel free and in-charge. Singing in my best voice unencumbered by sinus drains and judging eyes, there I am free and happy. When I think of all I have been blessed with I feel humbled and unworthy.
